Mark Redfox has displayed his works throughout the Northwest. Although a large part of his work is in the form of paintings, he also produces his own line of hand made cards, hand painted ceramic buffalo skulls and art boxes.

"The complexity and varied subject matter that has developed in my style of painting has forced me to explore the vastness of the true meaning of Plains art. It covers a broad range of spiritual and physical imagery, as well as emotions and a diverse interest in the world I live in.

"The first and formemost basic aspect of all Native American art is drawing, whether it was cave paintings or working on hides. The elementaryh forms have evolved through a process of knowledge of our ancient past, to the confrontation of the present and future awareness of who we are. In other words, 'what icons can I reproduce, as well as what icons can I change or invent?'

"This process of change in form is affected by the quality of maturity and spiritual growth, as well as ideology vs. reality and is in a constant state of flux. It is impossible for me at this point to ever know what will fall out of my paint brush, and I think it works well as a technique in producing a piece. Once in a while it will surprise and amaze me."
