Mark Lone Eagle Redfox (Arikara/Lakota) was born June 1, 1955 on the Fort Berthold Reservation, North Dakota. He is an enrolled member of the three affiliated tribes, Mandan, Arikara and Hidatsa.

Raised in Montana, Mark is largely a self-taught artist who attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM in 1974 through 1976. He began his professional career in 1982 with his first one-man show at the Chandler Gallery in Missoula, MT.

Mark's experience includes having worked as a photographer, art teacher, graphic designer, illustrator and printer. He currently teaches summer art classes at the Northwest School in Seattle and gives lectures and art demonstrations in a variety of venue throughout the year.

Mark Redfox has displayed his works throughout the Northwest. Although a large part of his work is in the form of paintings, he also produces his own line of hand made cards, hand painted ceramic buffalo skulls and art boxes.
